Weck Tech Captain Promotional Class

This program will be taught by retired Battalion Chief Jeff Kaliher using the Weck Tech system and materials to prepare

the candidate for the upcoming Captain’s promotional exam. This system has been utilized by thousands of upcoming

Company Officers and Chief Officers. The program has been developed over the last four decades by Russell Weck

and was introduced to LA County candidates in 1989.

 

The system is designed to simplify and systematically break down the department manuals and testable

materials. This will be an intense several week program with bi-weekly tests to track progress. The program

has a proven track record of hundreds of candidates being promoted.

Battalion Chief Jeff Kaliher

 

This program will be taught by retired Battalion Chief Jeff Kaliher. Jeff retired from the department in 2018

as a BC working Battalion 15 in Pomona. He is a former student of the Weck Tech program for BC’s and

was promoted in September of 2009.

 

Jeff Kaliher was a Battalion Training Officer for 10 years and has an extensive background in Department

Operations. He has a myriad of experiences to touch on with prior Fire Inspector, Camp Foreman, Dispatch

Captain and Dispatch Chief to name a few. His last assignment before retirement was acting Assistant Chief

for Division 8. He retired after 33 years of Service with the Los Angeles County Fire Department.
